Overview
Khaatadekho is a CRM SaaS platform I founded and built from scratch — a lightweight Salesforce alternative for Indian SMBs who find enterprise CRMs too expensive and complex. I owned everything: product research, backend, frontend, AI integration, and client acquisition. Within months of launch, the platform reached 10+ stable paying clients generating ₹80,000 in average monthly revenue.
The Challenge
Indian SMBs need CRM software but refuse to pay for Salesforce or deal with its complexity. The challenge was building a CRM that was genuinely useful out of the box — not a feature-bloated enterprise tool — while adding AI-driven lead scoring that actually reduced manual data entry rather than adding more fields to fill in.
What I Built
Built the full CRM platform from scratch: contact management, deal pipeline (Kanban + list views), activity tracking, notes, and email/call logging — all in React + Django with PostgreSQL.
Integrated AI-assisted lead scoring using LLM APIs — the system reads CRM notes and interaction history, scores leads by conversion likelihood, and surfaces action recommendations, reducing manual CRM data entry by 60%.
Designed the pipeline automation engine: rule-based triggers (deal stage change → auto-task creation, inactivity → follow-up reminder) that saved sales reps 2+ hours per week.
Built multi-tenant architecture with subdomain routing, role-based permissions (admin, sales rep, manager), and per-tenant data isolation.
Acquired 10+ stable clients through direct outreach and referrals, growing to ₹80,000 average monthly revenue — validating the product-market fit.
